Drawing on both sides This double-sided study sheet contains a series of small compositional sketches illustrating episodes from the Book of Genesis. The scenes include the Creation of Adam and Eve, the Temptation with the Serpent at the Tree of Knowledge, and the Expulsion from the Garden of Eden, together with several studies of standing and interacting figures. Executed in a light and fluid hand, the drawings appear to represent preparatory ideas for a larger historical or biblical composition in the neoclassical tradition.
