An engraving interpreting The Lock, the famous painting by Jean-Honoré Fragonard. Maurice Blot (1753-1818) trained in engraving under Augustin de Saint-Aubin and was quickly recruited by Jean-Baptiste-Pierre Lebrun, the prominent art dealer of the late 18th and early 19th centuries, also known as the husband of Élisabeth-Louise Vigée Le Brun. The engraving is framed in a Louis XVI-style giltwood frame. The plate dimensions are 39.4 x 46.4 cm.
