This finely engraved high-carat gold pendant is formed as a six-pointed star, each point filled with delicate linear ornament and stylised foliate engraving. At the centre of each face appears a flower issuing from scrolling foliage, framed by radiating engraved lines that emphasise the geometric structure of the star. One side is further engraved with the owners initials ‘A C’.
The pendant is engraved on both sides, indicating that it was intended to be worn freely suspended and visible in movement.
The gold clasp is a later addition dating to the 19th century.
