Enamelled Dishes From Longwy

Beautiful suite of four large decorative plates in Longwy enamels representing the theme of the Four Seasons:

Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter.

Each dish is adorned with a gallant scene inspired by the 18th century, featuring elegant characters in landscapes corresponding to the seasons: Spring: country scene with characters near a flowering tree. Summer: Romantic garden scene with abundant vegetation. Autumn: walk in a landscape with warm colours. Winter: animated sled scene in a snowy landscape. The wide borders are richly decorated with golden arabesque motifs on different coloured backgrounds (green, blue, red and black), typical of the cloisonné enamel work of Longwy workshops.

On the reverse, the pieces bear the signature of the designer Hélène Gabet, an artist who worked for the Ateliers d'Art des Émaux de Longwy. This set is a rare and complete series particularly decorative, ideal for a wall presentation. Diameter of each dish: 46.5 cm
