Pair Of Brass Snuffboxes, Crowned R Hallmark, 18th Century

A fine pair of snuffers and their molded brass trays. Hallmarked with a crowned R and the mark IT, perhaps from a religious community? The crowned R was stamped on certain bronze and brass pieces (such as candlesticks, chest bronzes, religious objects, etc.) in the first half of the 18th century in the provinces (Rhône-Alpes - Franche-Comté). This hallmark was not subject to taxation, unlike the later crowned C. Good overall condition. Circa 1730.
