Longwy Enamel Factory - "colonial" Ball Vase

A rare and remarkable spherical vase in Longwy enamel with polychrome cloisonné decoration depicting lush tropical vegetation. This piece is distinguished by the exquisite detail of its decoration, the richness of its enamel palette, and the perfectly controlled firing quality, characteristic of the manufactory's finest productions. The model was created by Maurice Paul Chevallier and presented at the 1931 Paris Colonial Exposition, where it received an award. The piece bears the signature of the ten Lorraine crosses, the emblematic mark of the Longwy Enamel Manufactory. Art Deco period, circa 1930.
