Neoclassical Commode (zopfstil), Dresden, Circa 1780
Three-drawer neoclassical chest in the so-called Zopfstil with a strict rectilinear case, chamfered corners, and diagonally set tapered square legs. Veneered in walnut and richly marquetry with meander and bead-and-reel motifs, with filet banding along the edges. The top is veneered in mirrored pattern. Professionally restored and hand polished with shellac.
