Pair Of Stools By Isamu Kenmochi For Akita Mokko, Japan Circa 1960
Artist: Isamu Kenmochi
These stackable stools, model 202, created by Isamu Kenmochi, a key figure in postwar Japanese design, perfectly reflect his minimalist and functional aesthetic. Kenmochi was one of the founders of Japan Industrial Designers and collaborated with Isamu Noguchi from the 1950s onward. The stools feature a dark-stained solid beechwood frame paired with a restored seat upholstered in Lido fabric by Nobilis. Lightweight, stackable, and functional, they embody the perfect blend of modernism and craftsmanship.
