A superb Louis XV style lacquered commode, circa 1950. This superb commode, with its curved front and back, is lacquered in the Louis XV style and rests on cabriole legs ending in gilt bronze sabots. Decorated in a Japonisme style, it features two large drawers in the front and is topped with a beautiful Siena yellow marble slab, curved and molded. The lacquered front is adorned with gilt-relieved ornamentation, while the sides are decorated with foliage and birds perched on branches, framed within scalloped fillets in the Rococo style. It boasts fine gilt bronze ornamentation such as sabots, drawer pulls, drops, and keyhole escutcheons. It comes with its key.
