Folk Art Cane, Also Known As An Antisemitic "opinion" Cane
Rare antisemitic folk art walking stick. Towards the end of the 19th century, and particularly after the Dreyfus Affair, a number of ornamental objects displayed antisemitic themes. These included walking sticks with handles carved with caricatured faces. This particular one depicts a figure with a large, hooked nose. This walking stick is carved from a single piece of wood and measures 35,82 inches in length. France, late 19th century.
