Louis XVI Period Gilt Carved Wooden Barometer
A lovely oval barometer in gilt carved wood, with a mechanism by Réaumur. The dial bezel is surrounded by cascading foliage and ribbons. The pediment, with gardening motifs, features a basket of fruit amidst foliage. It is not in working order. Good overall condition, with restorations consistent with age and use.
