Farmhouse Table With Tapered Legs, 1950s
Maison Lecan presents this 1950s solid pine farmhouse table, a piece with a strong character distinguished by its four tapered solid oak legs—a typical detail of mid-20th-century French country furniture, blending rustic functionality with modern simplicity. The pegged construction demonstrates meticulous attention to detail, with no visible screws or hardware, in keeping with the grand tradition of rural joinery. The solid pine top, with its wide slats patinated by decades of use, reveals warm, rich blond tones with a beautiful depth. Its surface has been fully restored and finished with a matte varnish in the Maison Lecan workshops, enhancing the material while respecting the piece's authenticity. At 198 cm long and with a generous 59 cm height under the apron, this table comfortably seats 8 to 10 guests. It integrates gracefully into a characterful kitchen as well as a contemporary interior seeking texture and history.
