Reliquary With Quills
A rare reliquary presented to a French diplomat, Monseigneur the Marquis de Saint Priest—French Ambassador to the Sublime Porte—by "The Reverend Fathers, Guardians of Jerusalem," who himself presented it to his sister, the Marquise d'Ax, etc. The reliquary is under glass in a very attractive giltwood floral frame. The original paperwork is clearly visible, the structure is intact, and the original text is preserved.
Made in 1787, possibly by a French or Flemish convent (Bruges). Extensive historical documentation is available upon request.
