Magnificent portrait of the young Mary Jane Inglis before her marriage, wearing a white dress adorned with a bow and a brooch of emeralds and pearls. Presented in its original, richly decorated and gilt antique frame. Inglis married Dr. John Mackenzie, a staunch Highlander and local physician. Provenance: Lady Geraldine Inglis, wife of Sir Roderick John Inglis of Glencorse, 10th Baronet, a direct descendant of the Reverend John Inglis; then by descent.
