Decorated in deep Sèvres blue enhanced with gilding, in the style of the luxurious productions of the Belle Époque. The Sarreguemines factory, founded in 1790 and developed in the 19th century under the impetus of Paul Utzschneider, experienced considerable growth, notably thanks to commissions from Napoleon I. Renowned for the quality of its glazes and the richness of its decoration, it established itself as one of the major European ceramic centers.
