Monique Brunner Large Ceramic Bird Platter
Artist: Monique Brunner
Monique Brunner Large Ceramic Platter with Birds by Monique Brunner (née Pansier). Large ceramic platter signed circa 1960-1970. Atelier Poterie du Verseau. Important glazed ceramic platter signed by Monique Brunner, typical of the Brunner couple's production in Vallauris and Vence. Trained at Madoura, where she worked alongside Suzanne Ramié and Pablo Picasso, Monique Pansier continued her career at Cérenne before founding Poterie du Verseau with Kurt Brunner, first in Vallauris and then in the Issarts district (1967-1988). The platter features a decoration typical of the Brunners: birds, flowers, or bouquets, fusing Mediterranean and Northern European influences. Signed Monique Brunner — very good condition. An emblematic piece of post-war French ceramics, sought after by collectors and decorators.
