19th Century Athenian Column
Large 19th-century Athenian-style column with a solid, carved blond walnut structure featuring a Neoclassical design enlivened by a frieze of piastres adorned with prominent laurel and acanthus leaf garlands in the corners. The whole is supported by three architecturally designed uprights terminating in sabots and joined by a terrace forming a stretcher decorated with a rosette. The upper section is topped with a circular veined marble slab. Good overall condition. Dimensions: 1.06 m high x 35 cm wide / marble display terrace: 21 cm in diameter.
