Old shops with all their wares hanging outside on the storefronts, women chatting in traditional dress like those still seen in the countryside, tall 18th-century houses with basket-handle arched windows, laundry hanging from the windows—this is definitely the South of France, old Marseille or old Nice, painted here with bold, quickly applied colors. We have little information about this painter, but it's well-defined, cheerful, and bursting with color. Very good condition, never restored.
