Louis XVI Marquetry Commode, 18th Century, With Fruitwood Top And Wooden Top
Antique commode entirely inlaid with walnut, maple and plum stringing, and a fir frame. Contrasting with the grain and burr walnut. The architecturally designed front features a projecting edge, while the base has trompe-l'oeil inlaid pilasters and small tapered feet. The wooden top is milled. This period Alsatian piece exhibits all the characteristics of the Louis XVI style. The bronze keyhole escutcheons are adorned with a braided laurel wreath, and the handles feature rings simulating cords. It exudes antique charm and is a collector's item suitable for both contemporary and classic interiors.
