The other side presents a countryside landscape with a haystack and horse-drawn cart, evoking the landscapes of Berry and Creuse that greatly inspired Maillaud throughout his career. The panel is presented in a wooden frame. Dimensions: Panel: 46 x 65 cm; Framed: 60 x 79 cm. Shipping: €30. He studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris and exhibited regularly at the Salon des Artistes Français and later at the Salon d'Automne. Close to the landscape painters of the Creuse Valley, he became one of the leading figures of the Crozant School, alongside artists such as Armand Guillaumin. His work is deeply inspired by the landscapes of Berry, rural scenes, and peasant life, which he conveyed through sensitive and luminous painting. His works are now held in several public collections and museums.
