Pair Of Portraits Of Ladies Of Quality From The Louis XIV Period
A pair of portraits in their original frames, depicting ladies of high rank. Both are dressed in thick blue coats, one trimmed with fur, the other with gold fringe. They both wear dresses with richly embroidered bodices.
We identify these ladies as the daughters of Louis XIV: The first portrait is thought to be of the Duchess of Chartres, Françoise-Marie de Bourbon, or Marie-Anne de Bourbon, Princess of Conti. The second is believed to be of Duchess Louise-Françoise de Bourbon.
Oil on canvas.
Circa 1780.
Condition: some wear to the canvas and slightly darkened frames.
Dimensions: H. 52 x W. 44 cm (with frame)
