Solid Silver Sugar Sifter Spoon, Louis XVI Period, 16
A Louis XVI period solid silver sugar-sprinkling spoon, Parisian work. The spoon is decorated with a pierced rosette and a shell-shaped handle with chased comital coats of arms. Presumed hallmark of the silversmith Louis Courtin, who became a master in 1787. Although the first letter was poorly struck, the emblem features a crowned fleur-de-lis, one of two grains, and a dolphin. Net weight: 68 grams
