Bohemian Glass Sweet Dish On A Foot, Engraved With Rocaille And Scroll Motifs, 19th Century

Bohemian glass standing drageoir engraved with rocaille patterns & 19th century foliage

Tableware in Europe has always been the center of the arts. An honor to the consumed goods, bohemian glassware & crystal and its translucent appearance with multiple facets invites itself there, beautiful, engraved and noble.

A true masterpiece of 19th century glass craftsmanship in Germany or Austria, this drageoir stands out for its elevation thanks to a pedestal that supports its body in a bowl, topped with a lid mounted in a capital, an inverted drop handle crowning the whole.

Strewn with engraved patterns inspired by the neo-classical 19th century, rinceaux & rocailles mix, marking the split between the styles of the Ancien Régime to give way to a freer movement, in accordance with the philosophy & current thoughts in Europe at that time.

Blue medallions with acid-etched patterns are added. We then see scenes from everyday life in the German countryside: the country house, nature (swan), game (bird) in a forest & bucolic universe between transparency, sky blue. In very good condition, this drageoir is perfect for a classic table art of taste, or for collecting.

Fast & neat shipping in France, Europe & worldwide.
