Late 19th Century Three-drawer Serpentine Chest Of Drawers
Louis XV style serpentine commode, rosewood marquetry, 19th century. This charming serpentine commode opens with three drawers. It is veneered in rosewood with herringbone marquetry, framed by stringing, and features beautiful veneer panels on the sides. The bronze handles and keyhole escutcheons are in the Rococo style, as are the corner mounts and sabots that elegantly accentuate the cabriole legs. The top is made of breccia marble in pinkish tones, molded and perfectly following the serpentine shape of the front. A decorative piece in the Louis XV style, made at the end of the 19th century, it displays fine quality veneer and a warm patina.
