Mid-19th Century Florentine Commesso Box
Elegant small rectangular box in hand-carved ebony. The lid is decorated with Florentine mosaic of semiprecious stones, depicting carnations, lending an elegant touch to the piece. The box opens with a small key, revealing its interior. This box was originally used as a glove box, but can also be used to hold small objects. It is a unique piece of great refinement and elegance, in perfect condition. Florentine manufacture, mid-19th century.
