Louis XVI Fireplace
Charming Louis XVI style fireplace in white Carrara marble with arabescato pattern, late 18th/early 19th century. In perfect condition with its inlaid floor slab in white and Aleppo breccia. Small in size, it comes from the library of a very bourgeois late 18th-century house in the Brive-la-Gaillarde region of France. The straight, corbelled jambs are decorated with fluting featuring asparagus motifs at the base and terminating in delicately carved acanthus leaves. The fluted frieze is adorned with carved medallions on either side. The simple mantelpiece is highlighted by an elegant molding in a corbel shape. This fireplace is in perfect condition and has no missing parts. Worldwide shipping available.
