Part of a Creil and Montereau earthenware dinner service, Flora pattern, 66 pieces. Among the most representative services from the Creil and Montereau potteries, the antique Flora service, or Flora with bindweed, is characterized by its decoration of bindweed and deep blue foliage. It was unveiled to the public at the 1855 Universal Exhibition, held at the Palais de l'Industrie in Paris. It comprises: 34 dinner plates (diameter: 23 cm), 12 soup plates (diameter: 22.5 cm), 12 dessert plates (diameter: 21 cm), 3 compote dishes (23 cm x 10 cm), 1 mounted plate (23 cm x 5 cm), 2 sauce boats with footed bases (28 cm x 11 cm), and 2 relish dishes (24 cm x 14 cm). Good condition, no chips, cracks, or fissures. Please note: two tiny chips in the glaze on the rim of a dessert plate, a small chip on the base of a serving dish, and a few stains on some pieces. An iconic and timeless design, with many plates being the most common pieces and few other shapes!
