Louis XIV Style Walnut Writing Desk With One Drawer, 18th Century
Superb solid walnut table, typical of the Louis XIV period, 18th century. It is mounted on four baluster legs connected by a stretcher. The entire piece is turned wood, with walnut in two tones: dark and light. It has double-padded feet. The apron features a wide molding. A large drawer in the front has a dark molding. The top has a wide cyma molding around its edge, which reduces its initial thickness. Everything is fully pegged. The drawer has its original poplar liners. The top has a beautiful honey color and shows signs of wear that give it considerable charm. A high-quality piece of furniture. The top is pegged and nailed, which is typical for this period.
