Dolne-type revolver with a combination hand-punch and dagger mechanism, known as "Apache," with a pinfire action.
Hollowed cylinder with six chambers, chased with scrolling foliage, stamped "ELG" in an oval representing the standard proof mark for a black powder firearm in Liège, Belgium; proof marks.
Bronze frame and hand-punch, decorated with four rings, monogrammed "JD" under a crowned circle and marked "J. DELEAXHE BREVETÉ" and serial numbered "263."
Checkered back within a cartouche.
Crown hammer without a crest.
Chained trigger guard.
Steel blade, four-sided with a central ridge; folding, with a locking mechanism.
Screw-on ramrod, monogrammed with a "V".
Double-action operation.
DOLNE Lambert, gunsmith from Liège (Belgium), inventor of the Apache revolver (folding revolver with a folding knuckle duster and a folding blade). Patented in 1869, 1870, and 1875.
Very good original condition.
