Sèvres Bronze-mounted Perfume Burner
A potpourri or incense burner in the form of an Athenian woman, consisting of a covered soft-paste porcelain bowl from Sèvres, decorated entirely by hand with garlands of flowers and leaves on a typical Sèvres blue ground with gilt embellishments. Our lovely pot, mounted on a tripod in gilt bronze with ram's heads and hooves, with a flame-shaped base on three toupie feet, dates from the 19th century and is in perfect condition. It bears the Sèvres mark underneath, with the letter C in gilt above, and the letter R below, indicating 1770.
