Empire Mahogany Dressing Table with Lyre-Shaped Legs – Restoration Period. An elegant Restoration period dressing table in flame mahogany, resting on an elegant lyre-shaped leg, openwork and carved with rope motifs, terminating in a stepped square base. The frieze opens with a drawer in the front, adorned with chased and gilt bronze mounts decorated with palmettes and a central mascaron. The upper surface opens with a drop-front revealing a framed mirror and a compartmentalized interior in solid mahogany for toiletries. A very fine French piece from the first third of the 19th century, circa 1820–1840. Beautiful quality cabinetmaking, lovely patina, original bronze mounts. A stable piece in good condition.
