Benjamin Vautier, known as Ben, born July 18, 1935, in Naples, and died June 5, 2024, in Nice, was a Franco-Swiss artist. He became famous in the 1960s thanks to his works based on his writings. Part of the postmodern avant-garde, he was a member of the Fluxus movement. His work is characterized by performances, installations, and inscriptions with philosophical and provocative messages. He was a member of the École de Nice, alongside César, Arman, and Martial Raysse, among others.
