JEAN-JACQUES LACHENAL 1881-1945 He was a student of his father Edmond, who taught him the techniques of modeling and throwing. When the latter relinquished the management of his Châtillon workshop in 1911, Jean-Jacques became the director of production and renovations, then the administrator and promoter. Three years later, he took over the entire father's workshop; He then turned to tableware, creating services where each piece was unique. After the First World War, he established a ceramics workshop for wounded soldiers, a philanthropic endeavor known as the "Wounded of the Lachenal Workshop." He later produced ceramic advertising items, working in collaboration with the Châtillon enameller Louis Bros. From 1920 to 1939, the Lachenal workshop served as a creative hub and laboratory for all the artists of the era.
