"17th Century Walnut Chest"
A chest made entirely of solid walnut, with a highly ornate decoration of oak leaves and acorns. The front features four panels, each displaying a different coat of arms in its center. Also noteworthy is the fine dovetail joinery at the four corners. The intricately carved sides are adorned with large wrought-iron handles. The notches on the top are evidence of a joint with "tangs" that have since disappeared and been replaced by large hinges. The overall decoration dates to the late 16th century. Origin: Italy
