"Renaissance-era Walnut Cassone, Florence, 16th Century"
A magnificent 16th-century walnut cassone, bearing the arms most likely of the "De Benci" family, a prominent Florentine family known for Ginevra de' Benci, whose portrait was painted by Leonardo da Vinci. The cassone stands on four claw feet, and the front is carved at the top with scrolling foliage and a cupboard supported by two griffins.
