Ca Mau Binh Thuan, Set Of 8 Porcelain Bowls, Early 18th Century

Set of 8 small blue and white porcelain tea bowls decorated with flowers.

Each bowl bears a label "Ca Mau – Binh Thuan, Sotheby's – Unicom" and other references written in ink.

The Ca Mau was a Chinese junk sunk in 1725 in southern Vietnam, carrying over 130,000 pieces of porcelain from the Kangxi and early Yongzheng periods.
These pieces were made in Imperial China (some pieces bear the mark of the Yongzheng Emperor) and were intended for the European market, traded by the British East India Company or the Dutch East India Company.
Fishermen discovered the wreck: 130,000 pieces were recovered, and approximately 76,000 pieces were sold by Sotheby's Amsterdam in January 2007.
