The two figures gaze at a young child, his hands clasped in their direction.
The scene, seemingly set in an interior, opens onto a landscape to the right of the painting. Note the refined, almost Mannerist, rendering of the Virgin's right hand, as well as the modeling of the child's body.
The piece is presented in an 18th-century gilt frame.
French work, 17th century.
Good condition; note two minor chips in the copper.
Dimensions of the copper: 22 cm x 16.4 cm.
Dimensions of the frame: 29.7 cm x 23.3 cm.
