A rare parrot (macaw), both in size and design, beautifully crafted and signed with a royal crown surmounted by an N, Capodimonte (originally the royal manufactory of Naples, later taken over by various Italian workshops), a renowned Italian tradition. The decoration is highly detailed and colorful: the raised flowers, the shades of green, yellow, and blue, and the expressive modeling are characteristic of this decorative style. The base is openwork and sculptural: this type of ornamental plinth is common on 20th-century Italian decorative pieces.
