"Lao Folk Buddha"
Standing Buddha in wood and polychromy. Many Buddha figures were in caves in Laos. Erosion and humidity caused the articulated arms or headdresses to fall off. They were sometimes replaced with the arms of another statue, probably as here. The feet at the back are eroded, but the statue stands upright without a base. A curious, somewhat tribal style.
