"Silver-plated Metal Ray Monstrance From The Late 19th Century, Italian Manufacture"
The monstrance rests on a circular base molded with a gorget and a bull, and features a schematic cast, gilded, and applied plant motif, along with a small decoration of stylized leaves. The figurative shaft depicts a cherub holding the receptacle with raised arms. The receptacle consists of a circular shrine enclosed within a frame decorated with a crown of thorns motif, surrounded by bunches of grapes, gilded ears of wheat, and, at the top, two crown-holding cherubs. The halo is composed of lanceolate rays, alternately gilded and silvered.
