A delightful drawing by Eugène Delacroix depicting a woman in profile.

The work bears the red "ED" stamp from the Delacroix posthumous sale of February 21, 1864.
It was likely part of lot 648 (studies of women's heads from nature, watercolors and drawings, 54 sheets) or 653 (studies of men and women from photographs, pen and pencil drawings, 74 sheets).

Pencil on paper laid down on blue paper, itself laid down on a sheet

12 x 10 cm for the drawing (22 x 20 cm with frame)
