Rare landscape in Brittany painted by Edouard CORTÈS, an artist famous for his lively views of Paris, who here depicted a seaside in Brittany, most likely around Perros-Guirec (Côtes d'Armor) which has a similar relief decorated with maritime pines.

We know of CORTÈS' views of Pors Mabo, Trégastel, Perros-Guirec, the Trestraou beach, La Clarté, Guingamp... places all located within an area of 10-15 km.

If Edouard CORTÈS remains an essential reference on the art market (with Galien-Laloue, Luigi Loir, Jean Béraud...) for his numerous views of Paris, he also painted villages on the outskirts, Breton interiors, countryside landscapes (notably in Normandy) as well as scenes of ports or seasides in Brittany, rare themes in his work and sought after by collectors !

This artwork, rich in colors and contrast, presents a very beautiful use of the knife, especially in the sky.
