The Passage des Panoramas is the oldest covered passage in Paris. It was opened to the public in 1799. It is located between the Bourse (Stock Exchange) and the Opéra (Opera House). At the time, the idea for its construction was inspired by oriental engravings depicting souks, intended to allow Parisians to stroll. Later, around 1830, the architect J-L Victor Grisart undertook renovations and the creation of branches forming the Galerie Saint-Marc, Galerie des Variétés, Galerie de la Bourse, Galerie Feydeau, and Galerie Montmartre. It was during this period that many creators of tableware accessories established themselves there, including ZIMBERG.
Today, at number 47 is the shop of the engraver Stern, which has existed since 1840 with its period woodwork and antique furniture, and at number 57, the Arbre à Cannelle (Cinnamon Tree), a tea room where you can admire the typically Napoleon III decor…
