Pistol from the Maubeuge factory.
Octagonal barrel at the breech, then round, stamped F and IX, no markings on the breech tang. Length 20 cm.
Wooden stock with a long fore-end, marked RF and IX.
Brass furniture stamped VI.
Lockplate with a very nice marking: Manufacture NLE Maubeuge and M of the inspector.
Perfectly functional mechanism and well-tensioned spring.
Nail ramrod present.
The black appearance of the inside of the lockplate is due to oil present on the mechanism (not cleaned).
Dents and impacts on the wood visible in the photos, oxidation from use.
