Giuseppe Fraschetti, a disciple of Lolli, was a friend and fellow painter of Armando Spadini, who had a decisive influence on his artistic choices. A figurative painter, he fits into the great tradition of Tuscan painting without being influenced by the new trends of the 20th century. In his paintings, the colour register oscillates between very dark backgrounds, inspired by 17th-century painting, and intense chromatic accents, which make his landscapes vibrate towards Impressionist light.
