Girolamo Lorenzo Corda (Veneto) 17th century - David playing harp with an angel playing violin
Large oil painting on canvas.
Antique box frame
Canvas measurements: width 118 cm, height 167 cm - 191x143cm measurements with frame
Dated 1667 and signed lower right on column
Exponent of a family of artists of northern Italian origin, presumably from the Trentino region but active in Bohemia for a long time. Documented in Vienna from 1680, he later moved to Prague, where he was present until 1729.
The coat-of-arms on the front of the harp with three 8-pointed stars on a blue background can be identified with that of the Frank Court of Art Spaur located in Spormaggiore near Trento.
