Lithograph By Henri Rivière Le Trieux At Kermarie

This lithograph, “The Beautiful Country of Brittany - The Trieux at Kermarie,” is signed Henri Rivière and bears a red stamp in the lower right corner. We note some small ink marks and minor stains in the margin, as well as traces of creases. There are also small stains in places on the lithograph itself. The colors are perfect; once framed, these imperfections will be barely visible. We have taken as many photos as possible of the imperfections so you can assess the condition. Sold as presented. Henri Rivière (1864-1951) was a French painter, engraver, and illustrator. He began his career with drawing, then moved on to intaglio engraving, specifically etching, in 1882. Simultaneously, in 1886, he embarked on a career as a director and set designer, creating shadow puppet theater at the Chat Noir cabaret, enhancing these shows with highly innovative, colorful sets. He then devoted himself exclusively to painting and engraving, establishing himself in the history of etching, printmaking, wood engraving, lithography, and watercolor (he painted approximately a thousand watercolors).
