Martin d'Azpilcueta, born in Barásoain in Navarre on December 13, 1491, and died in Rome on June 21, 1586, nicknamed "Doctor Navarrus" or "Navarre", is a Spanish canonist and theologian. He is the first to develop the quantitative theory of money and one of the greatest intellectuals of his time; he belongs to the School of Salamanca.
