Glazed earthenware vase with polychrome decoration, marked on the reverse with the three interlaced crescents of the Vieillard workshops in Bordeaux, dating from 1868-1895. Decoration attributed to the renowned ceramist and workshop head Amédée de Caranza. Cloisonné enamel technique outlined in gold in low relief, inspired by the traditional Chinese Fahua technique. Japanese-style decoration of flowers and a butterfly. Good overall condition, minor restoration to the base, several chips or losses of glaze repaired, star-shaped glaze crack on the reverse. Rare.
