A superb pair of Napoleon III period wall sconces, crafted from finely chased and richly gilt bronze, in the purest Louis XV Rocaille style. Each sconce features an elegant, flowing design with asymmetrical lines, adorned with broad foliate scrolls and a generously curved central cartouche, typical of the Rocaille aesthetic. The chasing is particularly refined, offering beautiful relief and a remarkable play of light on the gilding. The three light arms per sconce extend harmoniously and gracefully. They are topped with white opaline shades, adding softness and refinement to the whole. The combination of gilt bronze and opaline glass lends these lights a presence that is both precious and warm. French work from the 19th century, Napoleon III period, in the 18th-century style. Ideal for framing a trumeau mirror, a fireplace, or enhancing a classic or contemporary interior seeking elegance. In very good condition. A decorative and luminous pair, emblematic of the decorative refinement of the Second Empire. Original wiring.
